Dear Rush Limbaugh,

I’m no fan of Dick Cheney. But here’s something I’ll give him: for all that he dislikes the policies of the present administration and worries about the future of this country, he would never wish ill on it. He would never hope that more people would become unemployed or lose their homes; that more soldiers would die; that another terrorist attack would happen in our country. He is a patriot and I’ll bet he would rather see Obama succeed than see harm come to America and her citizens.

You, on the other hand, are like a small child, who would rather see the world crumble as long as before the last person breathed their last breath, they acknowledged that you were right. And oh by the way, don’t I recall you and some of your more vitriolic Republican counterparts stating that even talking against our president was unpatriotic and near treasonous? Does that only apply to Democrats speaking out against Republican policies?

Grow up, okay? Disagree, opine, bloviate all you want. That’s what makes this country great. But don’t wish ill on people. It’s a very very ugly quality.

  1. Amen, Lisa. I couldn’t have said it better. I especially liked Rush “is like a small child” who is not getting his own way and has thrown himself to the floor. Now, if he’d just pound his head while he was down there his tantrum would be complete.

  2. I’ve seen Rush have a soft spot every once and awhile (not that I listen to him often — I don’t). He really hated the concept for this restaurant in SLC I wrote about: http://www.more.com/2009/3975-a-restaurant-where-you-pay but then he recanted and said he thought maybe the world was a better place for having Denise in it… I guess he serves some sort of purpose — the negative publicity he gives people/things/institutions sometimes actually helps them!
