I hope the rumors are true and that you are, indeed, coming back to Seattle to play for the Mariners. We need the boost. But more than that, I think you’ll like it here better. Sure, Atlanta is an hour’s flight from your home in Florida, but there isn’t another place in the country where you will get the cheers, love, and appreciation as here in the upper left hand corner of the country.

You’ll be playing on Safeco Field, known as the House that Griffey Built. And just remember what it was like in 2007 when you came back to Seattle for a June series. Remember how our reaction to your return brought you to tears. You’re going to get that every home game this year.
