Dear Every Member of Congress Against the Public Option,

Here’s a quote from the Washington Post:on October 24 “…new polls, one from The Washington Post and ABC News and the other from the Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation, found clear majority support (57 percent) for a public option. The Post-ABC News poll showed support had risen five percentage points since August.”

Other polls over time show great public support for a public option. So what’s your problem? Aren’t you supposed to support the will of your constituents?

Call your voters. Do what they want, not what your party leader says will hurt the majority, okay?

  1. I guess I’m the dissenting vote here. I do believe everyone should have access to affordable health insurance, but I’m not convinced that the public option in its present form will solve any of our current healthcare woes, in fact I’m pretty sure it will only lead to more. I’m not saying a government health care plan would never work, but I’ve got my doubts. I’d rather do my own shopping, have competition between insurers encouraged, and watch my premiums fall. Under Obama’s plan, it’s as if you’re penalized for being healthy.

    A little bedtime reading…
