As we enter the second week of the fifth annual WordCount Blogathon, wherein I, and 251 of my closest writer friends, do our darnedest to blog every day in the month of May. It gives us a chance to go through each others blogs and find new gems to follow.
Here’s the first of three or four posts in which I share some of my best discoveries.
* Annette Gendler writes about writing, among other things. I personally don’t care what she’s writing about: she’s a delight to read. Today’s post was about how far a few miles can seem to your psyche, and to your willingness to drive those few miles.
* A couple great women writing about money and finances and working hard to convince the world that women don’t have to be afraid of subjects someone once told them were “male”. Annie Logue, who wrote Day Trading for Dummies, and Leah Ingram’s Suddengly Frugal blog, which I’ve been following since last year.
* Barb Freda’s Babette Feasts is always gorgeous and usually has a picture of something I suddenly feel like eating.
* Ever feel like you should have kept all your old journals from high school and college? Or felt you should have chucked them long ago? Reading bits from Barbara McDowell Whitt’s 1960s diaries can convince you of either prospect.
* I can always find something of value to me as a writer in Carrie Schmeck’s business writing blog.
* Great writing I like to read by a person I want to be friends with, Cathy Morton’s Cathy’s Voice Now.
* Claudia Neely has special needs kids and works with them. The blog for her website, Social Skills Success, often has great information, particularly if, like me, your autistic child is nearing adulthood.
* Love the pictures, love the writing: Outlaw Garden.
* Compost Happens is written by a woman who knows snark. I love that in a writer.
There are so many more. Look for another list next week. And thanks to my fellow writers for being so talented and prolific.
I love recommendations – I’m going to check these out. Thanks.
Thanks for pointing out these blogs, Lisa. Unfortunately, I missed most of them, so after reading your post, I’ll make sure to visit them.
Great list! Most bloggers I don’t know, so I’m going to check them all out now.
Thanks for pointing these out! I was just going through the list of Blogathon writers, wondering where to visit. I do love a good guide!
Like everyone else said, good reminders to check out their blogs, too.
Thanks, Lisa.
Thanks for the list of other blogs to visit. It helps to get someone else’s take on various members of the huge family we are part of for this month.
