Really kind of you to come out in favor of giving journalist Roxanna Saberi the chance to defend herself on her appeal of her conviction for spying. Pity you didn’t let her present a defense in open court from the start. But that would have just shown off that the charges were bogus and your “justice” system isn’t weighted in favor of, well, justice.
Or try this argument: it would have been cheaper to have one good trial than one bad one and one good one. Better yet, stop charging people with crimes simply because they don’t agree with you. Imagine all the money you’d save on trials and prisons. It might also go a long way to getting the rest of the world to take you seriously without having to resort to North Korean-like tactics of using a nuclear threat to get attention.
