I never grow enough peas or beans. Each year, I would plant a few vines of each, just enough to satisfy me as I picked them as they ripened. No peas or beans ever made it to the house. So I decided to plant more.<\/p>\n

I have three kinds of peas growing — shelling, mange-tout and the Asian\u00a0 type you stir-fry. I have too many to eat while picking without changing my diet to all peas, all the time. I have too many to feed to Darling Son and my dog Ruby (who likes peas almost as much as strawberries and bananas and apple). I think I’ll freeze some for later in the season.<\/p>\n

For now, my favorite thing to do is to stir-fry with a little oil and a whole lot of mint. I finish with a little salt and fresh pepper. It’s one way to get rid of some peas. But tomorrow there will be more. Many many more.<\/p>\n

I’m open to suggestions. What do I do with so many peas? And what will I do when the beans ripen? Because I have more bean plants than pea plants.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
